This large meal of nonno's plums is pretty normal in terms of volume,
but the fruit is unique. My Great Grandfather first planted this
cultivar, and I'm the fourth generation of my family to gobble it down.
As the third in my video series reexamining the idea of normal eating,
I show you what a healthy meal of fruit looks like.
In the video I mention the odd "film" on the plums. After a bit of
digging I think it's probably epicuticular wax, a crystalline
projection from a fruit's surface that repels water and UV
radiation.
