Reader's Question: I have acne. If I go full 100% raw do I still need to supplement with the omega 3 oils as so many professionals recommend?

Or will I do good just sticking to the 80/10/10 formula? Please advise.

Andrew's Answer: Adopting a healthy raw food diet that is both low in fat and free of irritants like salt and other spices will certainly set you on the right path.

Supplements are not needed.

Remember, though, that acne -as much as you may dislike it- is your body's attempt to expel toxins through the skin.

Most people have their acne clear up or be be significantly reduced on this diet because they're taking in less irritants, but you can't set a timetable on healing.

Your body will continue to vector toward health if given the opportunity, and if that includes more acne, it's best to give it some time to clean itself.
