How Long To See If I Need Vitamin B12 Supplements?
Reader Questions: If you stop taking a b12 supplement to see if you don't need it, how long should you wait to get your blood tested?
Andrew's Answer: Now there's a question I'm fairly certain no one has a good answer to.
B12 is a notoriously hard vitamin to pin down because our body so efficiently uses the stuff.
If you've taken B12 pills for awhile you could theoretically take years to run through your body's store.
The only way to ensure you continuously have sufficient reserves would be to get tested once every year or two after you stop taking them, which is what I do.
