Anette's Question: I would like to know what you think about the Blood Group Diet.
The research done on this subject shows that the lectins that food contains matches some blood types, but not others.
You do not mention different fruit for a different Blood type?
Andrew's Answer:Hi Anette.
There is no research published in reputable medical journals showing that lectins - or any other element in food, for that matter - dictate what type of blood type is ideal for consuming certain foods.
The blood type diet idea was most energetically promoted by Peter D'Adamo, a naturopathic physician and author of "The Blood Type Diet."
But his theories have been debunked by the medical establishment. Actually, you don't even need to know much science to realize the idea is bunk. All you need it a bit of logic.
I discuss the blood type diet and why no one should pay attention to it in
this article. But to answer your other question, no, you don't need to make fruit selections based on your blood type.
Although allergies and intolerances may make some fruits inappropriate, this is certainly not a blood type-based issue.
