Lady Finger Bananas and Kale Smoothie

Heather's Question: Is it possible that Lady Fingers are just too starchy for blending with greens?
I had 2 disastrous smoothies where the whole thing almost turned to glue and was very astringent and 'grabby' even though the bananas where ripe.
I've made the same smoothie with other types and this has never happened. I tried adding more water however it was like a chemical reaction had occurred!!
Warm Regards,

Andrew's Answer: I've had lady finger bananas before, but never made a smoothie out of them, so I had to send out a message on the fruit lover grape vine to get an answer.
I got two answers back.
This is how Brock Bowen put it: "Yep they turn to glug! Eat the lady fingers and blend up Cavendish."
Taylor Snipes, however, though the lady fingers may not be ripe. He said: "I'd guess they weren't ripe. I'm no expert on imported bananas, but the local ones I ate daily in FL never gave me that issue."
Hope that helps.
