Rachel's Question: I read your article about curing allergies and was confused when you said to stay away from meat and dairy. You also mentioned the intake of antibiotics.
Did you mean to say don't take in meat and dairy because of the antibiotics?
Would grass fed organic beef and unpasteurized dairy be okay to take in if you have food allergies?
Andrew's Answer:
Hi Rachel.
Nope. I meant that as far as existing data can show us, meat and dairy of any type are quite unhealthy and cause disease.
In the specific realm of allergies, there are currently no studies I'm aware of that have shown more natural types of animal protein like grass-fed beef or unpasteurized dairy to have any advantage over animal foods produced from conventional factory-farmed, grain-fed animals.
However, If you're restricting your view to just allergies you're missing the big diet picture.
Meat has been shown pretty conclusively to lead to all sorts or problems like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
Dairy has a similarly nasty portfolio of diseases it's known to cause.
